GOLDEN DRAGON GALA
Sun, Oct 25th

The Golden Dragon Fundraiser & End-of-Year Celebration hosted by the Cleveland Dragon Boat Association in partnership with ONETs is envisioned as a vibrant, high-energy evening that blends cultural tradition, community impact, and celebration of the season’s achievements.

Set for October 25, 2026, this event serves as both a fundraiser and a year-end celebration, bringing together paddlers, supporters, families, and local leaders. The “Golden Dragon” theme symbolizes strength, prosperity, and unity, honoring the spirit of dragon boating while elevating the evening into a premium, memorable experience.

Dragon Boating & Cancer Recovery

Dragon boat paddling holds a powerful and well-documented connection to cancer recovery, particularly among breast cancer survivors. The sport promotes upper body strength, mobility, and cardiovascular health, while also addressing something equally critical—emotional healing and community support. Survivors who paddle often report increased confidence, reduced isolation, and a renewed sense of identity beyond their diagnosis. The synchronized nature of the sport reinforces teamwork, resilience, and forward momentum—both physically and mentally—making dragon boating not just an activity, but a transformational recovery experience.

Why Partnering with ONETs Matters

The partnership with ONETs elevates the Golden Dragon event beyond a single mission and into a multi-generational impact initiative. While dragon boating fosters strength, discipline, and healing, ONETs brings a deep commitment to to supporting those in treatment, caregivers and medical staff. Together, the collaboration creates a bridge between empowerment through sport and empowerment through opportunity—connecting seasoned athletes and survivors with people who benefit from guidance,  and inspiration. This partnership ensures that the fundraiser supports not only recovery and wellness, but also the next generation of resilient, community-driven leaders.
